Borca di Cadore is found in the north of the Veneto Region,province Belluno шт 56 km from the border with Austria. It is distant 150 km from Venice, 420 km from Milan, 680 km from Rome and 168 km from Innsbruck. The municipality occupies 2700 hectares and consists of three parts: Villanova, Cancia and Corte.
Borca is often mentioned in the history, its name is connected with ancient legends. Its coniferous woods were a refuge of mythical inhabitants "anguines".
Along with two other villages San Vito and Vodo, Borca - is well known Alpine resort located at the height 800 - 1000 m above the sea level.
It is considered the patron of settlement sacred Simon Cannonit.
Borca is in long and wide valley Valle del Boite protected by tremendous mountains Dolomites majesticly towering over it. These mountains of pink colour: to the right of river Boite there is a mountain Pelmo (3168 m), at the left - comparable only with Marmolada, mountain Antelao (3263 m), in the south - Penna mountain (2196 m) and mountain Rite (2181m).
Borca in winter: for those who wishes to be trained in alpine skiing, it is necessary to go on the north of Borca. In 3 km there is San Vito di Cadore, in 12 km lies well-known Cortina d'Ampezzo - a place Winter Olympic Games 1956 with 140 km traces for all tastes. That who loves the Nordic skis, it is better to go to Villanova.
Borca in summer: mislaid among Dolomites, Borca allows to spend holiday in tight contact with nature, walking on the special tourist tracks, lost in coniferous woods, collecting mushrooms or trying to catch a trout in river Boite, and it is possible to taste a local cuisine.
Some excursions starts from 30 min till 3 h. You will visit new forest, and antique road, and church saits Simone and Tadeo, and an old mill.
